la1fas Posted July 12, 2010 Posted July 12, 2010 So the story behind this is that my friend had a 8800 or a 8600... anyway it burned and now he's sitting on a 6700 or something like that And he is going to change it, what should he get? His pc is kind of old, and he cant spend a lot of money on it, so I think we are looking at a mid 9000 series or early 200 series :/ He knows that he wont be able max out games and stuff, but he mainly wants to play wow/bad company and other newer games on maybe medium graphics. Any suggestions ? Thanks
NuComer Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 Welcome to the forums dude well, first of all, knowing how much u guys can spend would be good to know, but ill give it a shot and go from USD$160 to USD$190. 5770s would be the way to go in my opinion, at least in that price range. CowKing Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 I would say the GTX 460 is the best mid-range GFX card right now at $200 USD
Bosco Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 It all comes down to what he has for a PC. I am guessing he has a PCI-X slot correct? What is the rest of the specs of the PC? No point in buying a highend card if he has a slow CPU and a weak PSU.
