redtigerdragon Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 So here is the link to the product made by Noise Limit. It's basically a passive cooler that uses liquid turning into a gas and re-condensing to cool the cpu. Does anyone have any ideas of how this odd little cooler will perform? Anyone have any thoughts? redtigerdragon Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 It hasn't been released yet so I don't think anyone has an idea yet. They have their older model out, I was just wondering about the technology behind it. Also looking to see what people think of it. It has most definitely piqued my interest. smduff Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 I can't see it working very well, especially if your an overclocker.

krazypoloc Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 Looks like it would need 30cfm to function with a high end CPU. PRODUCT FACTS • Sound level: Zero dBA • Efficient cooling capacity: TDP: 70W at +8 CFM TDP: 130W at +30 CFM • Slim design • High efficiency, parallel flow, low pressure drop condenser • Environmentally safe, 100 percent recyclable materials • Lightweight all aluminum design. only 280 grams • Pre-applied thermal compound for easy installation • Compatible with Intel Core i7 Sockets LGA 1366, LGA 775 and LGA 1156 • Factory-filled hermetically sealed system completely maintenance free • Back plate, steel mounting bracket and screws with spring support for optimum thermal interface towards CPU

IMO it will be not good for mid to high voltages...... we will see.
Locutus Posted July 8, 2010 Posted July 8, 2010 Probably comparable to the Vapor-X cooling you see on Sapphire video cards.
slick2500 Posted July 8, 2010 Posted July 8, 2010 Slap a fan on it and it might to something.
Andrewr05 Posted July 8, 2010 Posted July 8, 2010 Is this not just a heatpipe setup?
wormy Posted July 8, 2010 Posted July 8, 2010 looks like a heat pipe design attached to a radiator to cool better.
mknwatt Posted July 8, 2010 Posted July 8, 2010 I like how they say "Cooler designed to be used without fan" Then another quote "If silence is the main requirement of your system choose the SILENTFLUX passive pro cooler. Designed to work without a fan. Allows a totally noiseless processor cooling for mid- to high-end energy efficient CPU's.Works with every system with a top mounted PSU ventilated by a 120 mm fan. So it appears it does need a fan, a top mount psu with a 120mm fan. The cooler will only have one way to mount due to the design of a bubble pump. This also limits where it can be installed. I'm guessing that is why a top mount PSU w/ 120 fan is needed.
