You have to buy a mini displayport to dvi adapter. Scroll down to "Maximum output configurations for normal Radeon HD 5800/5700 series cards" on this page to see all standard configurations. And Here is the adapter you need. I'm assuming your monitor is 1920x1080.

^will not work

It MUST be an active adapter. Passive ones won't work.

Definition of active adapter: It has an extra usb cord, which it draws power from.

Passive( wont work) : http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/products/cables/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19&sku=330-1269

Active ( I have this one myself) : http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/products/cables/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19&sku=330-5521

"To enable support for more than 2 monitors, “active” DisplayPort™ adapters/dongles are required (or monitors with direct DisplayPort™ connectivity must be used)."

you can't use 2 DVI and 1 HDMI for eyefinity because the videocard can only support 2 monitors, thats where an active displayport adapter comes in, it allows you to hook up a third monitor. (that's the jist I believe.)

yeah one of the HDMI outputs and the DVI outputs are on the same "board?" I guess you could say. So you need an active display port adapter (most common one I've seen is the one on dell.com) and a displayport to dvi or hdmi, or whatever input your monitor has for eyefinity to work. Post some pics of your setup when you get it all hooked up. I love to see eyefinity setups that motivate me to buy that 3rd monitor haha.

But he has 3 monitors? I do not see your point here. He has 3 monitors, hence the third one must be through an active adapter. Check my sig.

Much cheaper solution assuming your monitor has vga input link. Success story aka source. search Active miniDisplayPort to VGA Adaper since you said you had a minidisplayport.

He uses a VGA connector. Sure, it might work, but afaik the picture quality is worse. Go with the active adapter.
