Not sure about the ATI/Nvidia favorability on CineBench, but it's an OpenGL Test and all GTX 400 Series and ATI 5800 Series cards support OpenGL 4.0. So I am confused on why the 5870 is killing the 470 on this benchmark. I would like to see a 480 in here for an added comparison, maybe Nyt will grace us with his presence ;)

Also, this prob needs to be a score thread! To the OP - are you planning on doing that? If not, maybe i could lend my time and effort, and make this happen! With the assistance of Andrew ;), since the Furmark competition thread is so well done!

thats a little odd considering the V8750 is the 5870 lol. i feel like its not doing some of the calculation properly or skipping code completely ending in a really high score.

just a general rule of thumb in a workstation environment (aka cinebench/maya/3ds max) the counterpart "gaming" card is usually 25-50% slower. so when a V8750 is getting half the consumer "gaming" card somethings up.

V8750 = 5870

V8700= 4870

V8600= X2900XT

Quadro 5800= GTX 280/285

Quadro 4800= 8800GTX

Quadro 3800= GTX 260 SP 196

and so on.

Not really sure about all of this, due to the fact I have never messed with a workstation card. But, all can say I ran these tests many times and have many SS and my lowest OpenGL score was 66.85fps on my single MSi 2GB 5870, overclocking/benching for about 90 minutes resulted in the 79.82fps score I posted, and I'm sure I can get it over 80fps with some more tweaking! And, Praz is in the 70fps range as well with a 5870! So I can't see it malfunctioning over multiple tests and 2 different users/systems. But, it does seem that the 5870 dominates here :) And, it doesn't heat the room ;) and cause electrical blackouts.... :rofl:

Cinebench cant use SLI can it?

I don't think the question is about Cinebench being able to use SLI, or multiple card setups period. I think if I remember correctly it just does not utilize the additional cards added. The performance actaully decreases when you add more than 1 card!

my fault i was a little mixed up the V8750 is just a V8700 with 2gb and its a 4870 BTW. the V8800 is the one i was thinking of and i'm sure it will hit 100+ Fps

FirePro and Quadro Fx Comparison charts. The easy way is to match the SPs to the gamer cards and you roughly have the right card.

I figured out why everyone getting such high scores! it seems the incorporated cpu physics into the OpenGl benchmark. if you notice the cones the car runs over those are the physics it seems. when i overclocked my card it gave me .11 difference (36.11) when i OC the cpu to 4ghz i got 54fps lol. also the cones falling down just flew by like it was nothing. it seems the only useful part of the benchmark now is the rendering. i'll post pictures later, i'm lazy.
