need help with 5970

Recommended Posts

so i just bought a pre-owned 5970 and it dosent seem to want to work. we tested it out on the sellers computer and it worked flawlessly. itake it to a friends house and it crashes as soon as anything GPU intesive loads up.i just downloaded the 10.6 drivers as well. what could be the problem? i dont know if this matters but the guy i bought it from had an alienware.

Is the power supply up to it?

Edit: A good quality 500W will be OK but a 650W would be best.

That will do nicely!

Cleaned out all the old drivers properly before installation?

CCleaner works well.

try running driver sweeper and then delete the ati folder in the c drive and re-install ur drivers,if that does not work then go shop and check it again if it works or u can check it in an other system.
