Recommended Posts

Hello all

I just received the final parts to build my new rig...Yeah. Anywho I was just wondering what would be the best way to orient my cooler( Noctua NH-D14)? Should I exhaust it out the back of my case or should I exhaust it out the top?

Here's what I have:

Asus Rampage III extreme

Corsair Obsidian 800d

i7 930

Corsair HX 850

HIS Radeon HD5870

6 gigs Corsair Dominator

win 7

WD 1 ter black edition

samsung dvd writer

3 120mm xigmatek fans

3 140mm xigmatek fans

logitech G15 keyboard

logitech MX 518 mouse

HANNS 28" monitor

Orientation was a build topic with my rig as well.

OCZ Vendetta 2 on a M2N-Sli Deluxe forces the orientation of the cooler to blow out to the top.

Mounting clips ( that came with the motherboard) cant be rotated due to motherboard component placement ( ram slots)

Thankfully CM690 has placement for both bottom in and top out ventilation

Just go with however the case has it layed out, and it may work to go either way.
