Andrewr05 Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 So next Saturday there is a big Beer festival in Brattleboro,VT (right near where i used to live, minutes from my parents place) and I'm absolutely definitely going. The thing is look at the incredible awesomeness of breweries that will be attending: LINK That is almost unfair, I love good beer and I'd love to try one of all of those. Of course that brings up a few issues: Going broke from buying what will probably be ~$4-5 a glass of beer Going broke from buying a crapload of stupid knick-nacks, glassware, merchandise, et cetera Getting shitfaced and doing something extremely ignorant/foolish/illegal/"wrong" in public Dying of alcohol poisoning What to do? What to do? The event is only 5 hours long, some of these beers are quite a high alcohol content too. I suppose I could only have half a pint of each (not literally each due to the lack of monetary sustenance and the fact that I don't like some beers) and then only be partially alcohol poisoned by 5pm. Hmmm...
Silverfox Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 What if you don't go?
greengiant912 Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 boo, no Wisconsin Breweries. Ive tried a few of those breweries brews before they are alright. I am not really a fan of heavy beers rich in alcohol, to me a beer should be refreshing, and not heavy. If you do come across any breweries from Wisconsin I highly suggest you try some of these if they are there. http://www.hornygoatbrewing.com/ (exposed is one of my new fav beers.) http://www.newglarusbrewing.com/ (Spotted Cow is a great Lager) http://www.capital-brewery.com/ http://leinie.com/av.html (Summer Shandy is a great refreshing summer beer imo. Just a hint of lemon.) http://www.lakefrontbrewery.com/main.html http://www.sprecherbrewery.com/index.php (Heavy Ales mostly, not my personal fav.) Dynamic Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 Why not try something more productive, but remember this, what you really think about can actually occur. Even if you do go, why not balance everything out? Why would you go broke from buying all of those things they showcase behind glass windows, or beer after beer, you should by now know how much you can actually drink and from each can you can actually see the difference in your thinking, reasoning, gudging, speech, attitude, mood, and such. Think about it...
Andrewr05 Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 (edited) I was kind of being sarcastic, I'm definitely going but there is just going to be so much good beer there that I may NEVER get to drink again due to the limited availability.I'm like a 6 beer queer though, especially with like 11%+ beers. Andrewr05 Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 I know I already said this but I was being sarcastic guys, I had already planned on bringing cash only and trying small samples vs. whole pints of beer at a time. I can't wait to try some of the rarer stuff, depending on how with festival goes (this is the first year) I may not ever get to try any of these brews again. Onion Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 (edited) Good idea on that small samples thing, if you're trying them a pint at a time, you're gonna be so wasted that you'll need to taste the first ones again lol. Oh and drink a blue moon for me. Edited May 6, 2010 by l33t p1mp
