Finally 4.5Ghz stable on i7 930

Recommended Posts

Finally, I got 4.514GHz stable with 1.424v. To temps hit mid 80's very briefly. The temps maintained mis to high 70's for the mostpart. The 80's were for a second or two on each pass. Any thoughts???

Both CPU and Waterblock lapped... When I pull waterblock, the spread looks exactly like this:

maybe it is too much or not enough pressure???

if the spread looks even, then you may not have enough pressure. Don't go crazy with it, just 1/4 turns at a time. Try and look @ your block screws to see if any are visibly looser than the others (meaning further up on the threads) as those will be the ones you want to tighten first

nah, his temps are in line, maybe a pinch on the high side, but that's probably due to the problem we're tracking down now ;)

Yes. 2 of the springs have a little more space. When I tighten I try to put the same torque on each screw. I do each one gently a little then move to next. I try toi do a few turns on each and keep rotating until it is getting firm but not too firm......
