Really like it except for the HDD. Why not try the Western Digital Sata3 64MB Cache HDD. More cache than your suggestion and sata3. Not sure about Canada but in NZ only $10 more than the Spinpoint F3.

I would suggest that u change ur cooler the an Sunbeam Core-Contact Freezer 120mm its better & almost the same price

Sony DVD drives are horrible they cant read scratched CD properly ,i would go for and LG or Samsung, these are neday better.

Nice parts u have selected, u should Oc this machine.

build looks good. although next time I would strongly suggest changing the name of your links to the product name. Clicking through each one to see what part it is really isnt high on peoples priority list, and many will just skip over this thread. (i know i did the first time)

I was told and read on many sites that the Samsung Spinpoint F3 was the fastest around. No mechanical drives on the market currently saturate past sata2 so sata 3 is pointless until i decide to upgrade again to a really fast SSD drive. That 64mb cache is catching my eye though :D

NCIX doesn't have the Sunbeam Core-Contact Freezer, the CM Hyper 212 was the best I could find for such a low price, it would work better If I add another 120mm fan for a push/pull setup but I need a adapter/splitter thing so I can run the 2 fans from my motherboard. Can anyone look on NCIX to see if they can find me one, one like this, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16812718001. Also, I've never had issues with Sony drives, they have all performed great. I never had any issues with the LG drives I've had either, so we'll see :D

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll make sure to do that first next time :D

I would downgrade the motherboard to something like a 890GX. I would then put that extra $100 toward another part. Maybe an SSD for the OS and your favorite game? Maybe an HD 5870? Maybe a better cooler like the Noctua NH-D14? :D

I could downgrade to the ASUS M4A89GTD PRO and save the $100 but to me it doesn't look half as good and doesn't really match the whole Black/Red theme I was going for :( The performance gain from a 5850 to a 5870 is not worth it to me as I will be overclocking it like mad :D An SSD for just the OS is a great idea, I'll think about it. The CM Hyper 212+ should do just fine with 2 fans for a push/pull set-up along with some AC MX-3 :D
