I put everything in the same bank account, and I pay the bills from it! It's as simple as that. :)

:withstupid:

I just use online banking typically all your transactions show up the first day and you can then use that to determine how much money you have.

Also by the way Microsoft money is no longer developed and was discounted a few years ago.

I voted "other software/website" because I really didn't know what to chose. I log into the websites for my CCs and bank accounts, so I guess that's what you're looking for.

+1. I use my bank's website to check on my account and CC, no need for anything else because I can monitor my money, set up spending limits, and savings goals from there.

Used to do it with pen, paper, and a calculator. This thread inspired me to move everything over to a spreadsheet. Looks much nicer and I don't have to add everything up again if I don't write the total down. So, thanks! :thumbs-up:

Well, this is easy for me.

I am an accountant and work in finance.

But I don't use fancy software for myself. Instead, I have a few ground rules and use online banking to check up on figures:

1) Spend less than you earn

2) Spend always on your credit card, and clear in full each month (to incur zero interest and get card purchase protection)

3) Save a portion of funds on payday, every payday

4) Always keep some money aside 'for yourself'

As a result, I'm saving minimum
