Miek Posted May 3, 2010 Posted May 3, 2010 As in the title, my volume will randomly crank down to 2 (I normally keep it at 10). I'm using Vista Ultimate 32 bit. I have a virus free PC (I do regular scans). Any ideas what could be causing this?
rmb938 Posted May 3, 2010 Posted May 3, 2010 Does your mouse or keyboard have volume control on it? You could be pressing it by mistake.
Miek Posted May 3, 2010 Posted May 3, 2010 Nope. My mouse is just a generic MS one. I have laptop- the volume control is a little wheel on the front as well as on the touchpad. However, I keep the touch pad off (I use the mouse) and I was leaning away from the wheel in the front when it happened. CowKing Posted May 3, 2010 Posted May 3, 2010 forgot to add that you can usually find them on your motherboard download page
Miek Posted May 3, 2010 Posted May 3, 2010 (edited) Indeed. I actually had to install the driver myself originally. For some reason when I first bought it, it had no sound. Turned out there simply was no driver. So, I downloaded & installed the driver. Today's the first time it's ever acted up. I'll post back if it starts acting up again. EDIT: Yup. It's doing it again.
