Puppy_Washer Posted May 2, 2010 Posted May 2, 2010 (edited) When playing games, I get a terrible draw distance (relates to textures in Crysis, and shadows in The Sims 3), and shadows appear fuzzy/blurry, with pixelated edges. Strangely enough, this issue was triggered a few months ago after performing a format and reinstall of Windows 7. I've reformatted many times since then, to try and solve the issue, with no success. So far, I have tried: - Swapping my GFX Card for other stock. - Swapping my motherboard (at request of reseller). - Swapping my PSU. - Clearing CMOS and updating BIOS (at request of ATI). - Clearing all drivers and updating to latest drivers. - Adjusting ATI Catalyst settings. - Adjusting game settings. - Ensuring that the computer hardware is installed properly. - Ensuring that temperatures are normal. - Using Windows XP instead. - Refresh rates are fine. - Monitor is fine. - [NOTE] I'm not overclocking. And nothing has worked, or even improved the problem. Thanks for the help in advance guys. Puppy_Washer Posted May 2, 2010 Posted May 2, 2010 Nope, I'm not overclocking, refresh rates are fine, and this monitor is also fine. I have no idea what is causing this, ATI doesn't know, Gigabyte doesn't know, and repair centres don't know. I'll add your questions to my list of tried things, because I already explored those possibilities. Keep the ideas coming guys, you're my last hope! Puppy_Washer Posted May 2, 2010 Posted May 2, 2010 In my list I stated that I've already tried clearing all my video drivers and updating to the latest. Currently I'm using Catalyst Control Centre 10.4.

Puppy_Washer Posted May 2, 2010 Posted May 2, 2010 Sorry, when I said I cleared all my video drivers, I meant that I've already used Driver Sweeper. It hasn't solved anything. I'm using Windows XP at the moment (just to see if there was any improvement). Sadly, there hasn't been any improvement in any area from installing different drivers. Puppy_Washer Posted May 2, 2010 Posted May 2, 2010 Is it a possibility that the cabling may be faulty/damaged?
Crazy_Nate Posted May 2, 2010 Posted May 2, 2010 Have you tried stress testing your hardware? CPU / memory / GPU?
