Activision signed Bungie for 10 Years

Bungie signed a distribution deal with Activision for 10 years. They say Bungie's new IP is long into development, so we probably will see a sneak peak at E3.

Call of Duty: Halo Warfare?

I am still pondering WTF? Whatever though, I am glad that bungie is holding onto their rights, and that they limited the exclusive deal. Even though 10 years is quite to long in the gaming industry, it at least gives them away out eventually if it comes to it.

 

It seems like Activision is launching a BIG PR campaign, in the past week they have been releasing information like mad. Tomorrow the next COD game will be premiered on GameTrailers TV.

 

 

Activision is in trouble there is no question about it. They will likely settle the lawsuits as if they drag it out in court it will only lead to more BAD PR for them. Its going to be interesting though what happens this year.

 

 

I hate what Activision has done, but I just can't make myself to boycott the few games I want this year from them. You have StarCraft II (Blizzard), then you have Singularity (Raven) two games I have been looking forward to for quite sometime.

 

I have never been a real huge Bungie fan, never really got super excited about Halo. I played halo 1,2, and 3. But always usually a few months down the line. I will likely pick up ODST and Halo Reach at some point, but they have always felt a little generic as far as FPS goes... IDK we will see what happens...

 

 

I just don't see what attracted them to Activision. EA has a amazing partner program right now as many studios have already pointed out (Value and now Respawn)

 

Hell even id a tradition Activision Partner has gone the way of EA, EA will publish Rage and Doom 4.

The only thing I can see good coming out of this is if bungie finally brought halo series to PC but if I'm not mistaken I think that is up to microsoft and not bungie. Other than the Halo games I really don't see what bungie has to offer.

They did make the Halo games for PC, Halo 2 pc was an Epic Failure. For some stupid reason it required Windows Vista, you could hack the game to run on XP but could not use multiplayer, the game itself was buggy as hell, and would refuse to run on my pc at the time and it far exceeded the minimum requirements, just browse the official forums once. It still refuses to install on my pc. I should have returned it saying that the game itself is buggy and wont work on my system.

Yes its Up to Microsoft because they own the halo IP's. Bungie has nothing more to do with halo after they finish Reach. Ofcourse that doesnt mean they wont make another halo game, though i doubt they will. Now its up to microsoft to Release Halo 3, ODST (probably together) and Reach, Everyone with some Sence knows that its going to happen, its just a matter of when I Predict we'll here something About H3 PC once Reach is Released.

 

Also, Halo 2 Vista Suuuuuuckssss! Eherm.. sorry i just had to get that off my Chest halo 1 (Combat Evolved) and CE (Custom Edition) is still the best halo Game to Date, (i liked halo 3, but it just isnt as Epic as the 1st) can you believe that halo's multiplayer is 10000X better then halo 2's? <_< Heres to hoping Microsoft sort out their crappy GFWL Servers to allow us PC users some extrrra bandwith when H3 PC arrives!

 

Edit: i hope that this Bungie/Activision alliance doesnt interfere with the halo Series on PC.. id just have to go down there and kill them all if it turned out to be activision doing the PC port and they had that Horrendous "internet Always ON" Drm thing :angry2:

Well I'm glad someone here is confident that more halo will come to PC. Though I personally don't see it happening because microsoft isn't going to let go of it's biggest console seller, halo and gears of war are the only reasons they are still able to make money off of a console with 50% failure rate.

 

As for halo 2, I never got halo 2 because it required vista, I would be surprised if that game had even sold 1000 copies.

Guitar Hero is already dying, Call of Duty is about to get smashed into the ground, and Blizzard, well... Blizzard can't be the only thing Activision will rely on.

WoW has more than 10 million subscribers. Starcraft 2 and Diablo 3 are on the horizon. Blizzard is a license to print money.

Actually There was an announcement (i cant remember where) but it was about the Halo Series coming to PC at some point, but the Gears of war Series wont. :thumbs-up: ..well thinbs down for Gears 2 and 3 not coming to PC too i guess
