EkomsDeew Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 this is a really cheap build... under $400!!! there are a few things missing, like speakers, keyboard, and mouse (which i actually do need to buy but ill get those from like Best Buy or somthing). i have a moniter and HDD but the moniter is REALLY bad though but ill worry about that later. anyway this is what i plan on getting in couple months when i get all the money. Rosewill ATX mid tower case. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16811147109 GIGABYTE GA-MA770-UD3 ATX AMD http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16813128376 XFX Radeon 4650 1gb http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16814150396 Antec 550w PSU http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16817371016 Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16835100007 CORSAIR XMS2 4GB DDR2 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16820145184 AMD Athlon 64 X2 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16819103772 if anyone has any suggestions about a better CPU that is still cheap please post. also keep in mind this is my first build so if i end up messing up somthing, i want to mess up somthing cheap. ive worked on computers before and am pretty confident about building one. im probably going to be mostly playing counter stike source on this rig but ill play other games on it, if this computer can handle them. Dynamic Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 I wouldn't bother purchasing that "Antec 550w PSU" because not only i've seen those PSU's take a dive right out of the box, but they are just not worth installing when it comes to powerup all of your components. Go with OCZ, Corsair, or other named brands.... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16817139004
punkishbloke Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 what are you using the system for? if you can unlock cores on that board id try getting a phenom II 550 failing that see if you can get a cheap 9850 or 9950 of ebay. EkomsDeew Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 ok ill probably go with the PSU you recomended cuz ive heard countless times that a PSU is the worst component to cheap out on. i heard alot of good things about the Antec 550w but Corsair does seem like a more reliable brand to go with. El_Capitan Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 I was selling my Phenom II x3 720 BE for $80, but no one wants it or no one looks at the OCC MarketPlace. I could throw in the aftermarket cooler for another $20. Considering the Phenom II x2 550 BE is $85 on Newegg...
