jdb123 Posted January 17, 2004 Posted January 17, 2004 I have an asus a7v333 mobo with an athlon xp 2200 cpu My cpu temp was running at like 57 degrees C. Then I updated bios and it is running at like 67 C. My fans are all running correctly, but it seems that my system is running hotter after updating my bios. Anyone know some settings that could be changed on bios that would make the cpu run cooler, possibly I forgot to change some settings upon updating so it is running differently..... Special_K Posted January 17, 2004 Posted January 17, 2004 most likely its just that its being read different with the new bios, what do you use to get your temps? i know that on stock cooling a 2200+ never goes over 64C max even with VERY poor circulation (my parent emachine) What are you using on coolin as well? jdb123 Posted January 17, 2004 Posted January 17, 2004 Maybe I am just thinking about it too much, but it seemed like my pc was letting out a lot more exhaust heat out of the back than normal, or I never payed attention to it before. It seems like the room I am in though gets really hot with computer on. Is there any settings though that I can change to make it run cooler? Sly_C Posted January 18, 2004 Posted January 18, 2004 if ur using asus probe it can be off but i doubt it would be off ten degrees. also maybe when u updated ur bios it changed some settings or something. doubtful also.
Some_Guy_ Posted January 19, 2004 Posted January 19, 2004 most likely its just that its being read different with the new bios One BIOS revision may have been to improve the accuracy of monitoring. Or they may have inadvertently decreased the accuracy.
asus Posted January 20, 2004 Posted January 20, 2004 i agree also.. check to make shure your system marks ar at a level of a 2200+ processor like when you go into start->control panle-> system .. what does it say.. it should say 2200+ for the cpu and ?? for the Mhz.. but the MHZ SHOULD NOT BE OVER 2000, !!!
