R1P5AW Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 Just curious if any of you guys are involved in IB, trading, ER or capital management?

R1P5AW Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 I'm somewhat involved in trading. Why? Just curious as I've had several Superdays while job searching and curious if anyone on OCC is involved in finance. I traded a lot of equities and currencies in the past but don't really plan to make a career out of it. What do you trade? Onion Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 I haven't done any trading in a while. Last things I did was the Euro, back in the times when it hit 1.50, MOS, POT, and a couple banks. I got help from my old man of course, its like his second job.
gebraset Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 Did some trading, lost a few dollars in the end so it wasn't a big deal. But never went back, the market is still not in the greatest shape so far. I'd rather invest it in other options myself, lol. R1P5AW Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 Yeah the market was beat to . in 08/09 that's for sure. We're looking at a turnaround now though.. @l33t EUR/USD pair is definitely an interesting pair to trade. With how things are looking i dont believe it will see that $1.50 again for awhile. Nerm Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 I dabble as a hobby and I maintain my retirement investments, but that is about it. As for the market it has been down but a smart investor knows that is the time to buy in order to get good returns when the market improves. When Ford was way down I got a nice chunk of their stock for about $3/share and that has my portfolio sitting pretty at the moment. Yeah, I doubt its gonna be back up to that for a while. The dollar is catching up to the euro right now actually.
