road-runner Posted January 17, 2004 Posted January 17, 2004 Hey guys I thought I would post a picture of how my cooling system is coming along. I have a 1900 GPH thats the big pump with 2 outlets and a smaller 550 GPH pump, I have put check valves on all 3 openings to keep water from back feeding in through the pumps, the reason I put 2 pumps is hopefully if 1 quits say the big one quits that the smaller 550 will provide enough water to keep from burining anything up. I am planning to cool at least 3 systems with this. I am using the peltier on the EE already and most all of that is already sealed up with neoprene, I am also putting another peltier on the 3.2C and sealing it up. I ordered extra neoprene from Danger Den to completely seal the Maze 4 cooling blocks, I also have closed cell black pipe insulation that I am going to use all the way from the frig. to the cooling blocks to prevent condensation. With very cold water and the peltiers I hope to achieve lower temperatures. What do you guys think about my plan?
caffeinejunkie Posted January 17, 2004 Posted January 17, 2004 Looks awesome i plan to do something similar but with a minifridge since it will be for only 1 system

silentsoundguy32 Posted January 17, 2004 Posted January 17, 2004 3 computers on that? you might wana go with 2 first and see how well that frig can soke up all that heat b\c most mini friges have kinda small compressors and 3 overcloked computer is *lot* of heat. Thats an awesome setup, let us know how well it does! Yes I have to drill holes in it through the top is where the picture shows that there is not any cooling parts, lines, electrical wires etc. in the way, the pumps will set in a 20 quart rectangular plastic container or 2 of them in case one starts leaking or breaks, they are sitting on the bottom inside the fridge. I took the plastic coke holders egg holders thing off the inside door and put that rubber seal back on with strips of flat aluminum, only thing to worry about is condensation and I believe that if everything is sealed so that air can not get to it there will be no condensation I hope! No thats not bad at all, I am running 25c on the peltier set up under full load 2 versions of foldings running, if I add cold water it should drop a lot, my poor 3.2C is running 2 versions also on air temps are 56c to 58c its calling me to give it some water cooling, along with the 2.6 I have not put together yet
Sly_C Posted January 17, 2004 Posted January 17, 2004 i was running at 17C load on air last night, but i was kind of cheating, had the side panel off, Smart fan running full blast and had the window open.

road-runner Posted January 18, 2004 Posted January 18, 2004 OMG.. i would have no room for that.. looks cool thouhg post more pics!! B) I will post some more pics. as I progress with it and will you know how it works, I am going to use 120mm fans on those 3 heater cores and maybe also run each through a 10' coil of 1/2" copper tubing sitting in the freezer part, but now I am wondering as SilentSoundGuy says it may not cool 3 systems, I got the bigest small fridge I could find its a 4.3 cu. ft. Danby is the brand name and it is new, I also am going to have 1/2" valves so I can control the circulating speed in case I need to slow the flow down or speed it up. I will keep ya'll posted. Thanks, David
asus Posted January 18, 2004 Posted January 18, 2004 3 systems.. im shure it would do that.. hmm..if there were only a way you could slow the flow down in the copper tubing in the freezer then speed it up after it gets out.. my suggestion is to keep everything in the freezer and refrig.. pump and all hookups.. i would only use copper in the refrig and freezer and minimal plastic tubing.. because the more copper the better!!! I would also insulate the outgoing tube with somthing to keep the water nice and cold.. since it may be travilin a distance.. and maby.. you could have the water go from one system "the main one" and then go to the frig, as a seperate coial of coper in the freezer then back out to the other 2.. and back into the resivwar or the freezer?? so it makes 2 stops insted of 1 B)
