CAINuKe Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 Okay, I need a new toy. I am thinking of buying a PSP. I don't know anyone who owns once so give me your thoughts if you do. Ive owned about 3 PSP 1001Ks. They are an excellent gaming platform, I prefered to mod and hack mine. Go with the: 1001 1001k or some 2001 series Those are the ones with the good hacks, you can still mod and hack a 3003 but its a bit more of a handful. McGrimm Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 A friend of mine has one. He likes it as a toy but if you want to use it on the go it isn't that good. He like the DS over it because he can just close it and it goes to sleep mode. I don't know what you have to do on the psp to get it to sleep but it bugged him. He doesn't have a car so he games on the bus to work and back.

I still have my modded and hacked 1001k from like 3 years ago. Its semi-bricked though, and I'm too lazy to make a pandora's battery. hardnrg Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 I don't know what you have to do on the psp to get it to sleep but it bugged him. You flick the power (slide) switch momentarily to sleep, at least on the PSP-1000 (Fat)
bp9801 Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 You flick the power (slide) switch momentarily to sleep, at least on the PSP-1000 (Fat) Same on my PSP-2000. Flick it up quickly once and it sleeps. Pressing down on it will lock it so no button presses can interfere. I think a PSP-2000 would be a good option.. the 3000s have a weird screen issue, the colors are brighter on it but the darker colors, like blue, don't show up as well. So if you can, get a PSP-2000 series. I use mine all the time when I travel, but the battery can run out in a few hours depending on the screen brightness. The DS is nice because the battery can last for ages, just its not as powerful graphically as the PSP.
