icthus Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 I have a Macbook with 10.6. I have movies on this mac that I want to transfer to the pc with xp pro. PC is for media only. I have loaded a movie on my flash drive and tried to transfer it to my pc but the pc says it needs to be formatted. I plug it into the mac and it works fine. What am I missing? The thing is the file is avi so the pc should recognize it.

icthus Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 Cant you just network transfer? Well I don't really know what I'm doing. I know enough about computers to get myself in trouble. I tried copying the file to a disk and transferring it that way. All I got was audio. I will try some of the other ways in this thread. Hopefully I can get something to work. If not then I'll just buy an Imac.
Kash Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 Format the flash drive as FAT32. Problem solved. No need to buy anything.

potatochobit Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 one other thing to note: very important! some files you must ZIP on your MAC to transfer to PC especially when you are moving fonts over, you must zip them to preserve the tree root clusters
