Do you use desktop widgets (or gadgets)?

Today's poll is a two parter. In the first part, we want to know if you use a desktop gadget (or widget), and in part two we want to know which kind you actually use. Note: due to limitations of the forum software, you have to select an option in both polls... even if you voted no in the first, which is why there is a "I don't use anything" option in the 2nd poll.

 

 

Do you use widgets (or gadgets) on your desktop? Here are a few of the most popular ones:

• OS X calls them dashboard widgets.
  
• Google Desktop calls them gadgets.
  
• Yahoo calls them widgets (was once called konfabulator).
  
• Microsoft calles them Sidebar Gadgets (Windows Vista & 7).
  
• Adobe has AIR Applications, which technically falls into the same category.
  
• Opera calles them Widgets.

I use window 7 sidebar gadgets on the 2nd monitor to watch everything when in game.

didn't used to use them, but since i got win7 i've found them more useful. i know i don't need 2 clocks, but when projected onto a wall the analogue one looks like a real wall clock.

I voted "No", but in the second part, I chose the first option and the Windows Sidebar option because I don't disable the latter from popping up when Windows starts. I just always shut it down after a little while.

I use both OS X Dashboard widgets (Dictionary, Weather, System Uptime, Calendar, and sticky notes) and the weather gadget for Windows 7 Sidebar.

Ditto: Plus I will use the CPU Usage to make sure Folding is doing its thing lol.

I also have the Calander.

 

Mine is for Windows Vista 64 though. not W7
