Need help cleaning all acrylic case

Recommended Posts

I just received a used UV blue acrylic case. The case is in great shape, no scratches or cracks. The problem is that it really dusty and dirty on the inside. I was wondering if there were any practical ways of cleaning a case that's all acrylic besides using plastic cleaner. I have a small spray bottle of plastic cleaner that I use on clear windows and such but I'd rather us something else to get the majority of the cleaning done and then use the cleaner as a finishing touch. I wish I had access to an air compressor, then I'd just blow it out. Would it hurt the case to remove all the electrical components like switches and LEDs, then clean it with water and air dry?

Okay after more searching it seems mild soap and water for detergent, nothing that has ammonia, and a shammy is what people seem to recommend. I decided to use that method. I put a couple small squirts of dish detergent into a two gallon bucket of warm water and used a shamwow **yes they really DO have some kind of use** to clean the case up. The soap left no kinds of residue and the shamwow made a soft cleaning tool. Just let it air dry and it's all nice and shiny :-)
