oldskool69 Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 hi there, i want to buy a new cpu and it should be a quad core. whats better, Q9300 or Q8400? i would say its the Q9300, because it has more cache. thanks in advance
nns Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 I'd say Phenom ( ) coz the q9300 despite being better than q8400 is quite costly and getting a phenom system with 890 series mobo would be a more future proof thing..
Disparaitre Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 Staying on topic I say the Q9300 just because it's better tech all around and if you OC it will go higher on average than the Q8xxx series. Every Q8xxx I've gotten my hands on was a pita to get past 3ghz whereas the few Q9xxx I've had the pleasure to OC all hit 3.5+ with extreme ease. Might be my ram though.

Check your FSB voltage and your NB voltage and you'll prob get beyond that with relative ease
