What is this thing???

Recommended Posts

I just got a Radeon 5770 card and these little adapter things came with it, there's two of them and I have no clue what they are. Anybody have a clue?

looks like something you plug into your 5770 that allows you to easily & accurately monitor voltages with a DMM ;)

Thanks for the quick reply... that's what I thought it might be, I just haven't taken a very close look at the card yet.

Yup those things are to check for voltage so since they gave you those the card was made for OCing. So since programs can't accurately measure voltage they give you those.

There you go.....http://www.guru3d.com/article/msi-r5770-hawk-review/3

Cable is for GPU and memory voltage checkpoints.

Cheers

I actually found that review right before I came back and read this. Thanks guys, this seems like a descent card... I've cranked on it a little bit so far, nothing to big though. I haven't oc'd the phenom much yet either.
