MrAlex Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 Just incase you didn't see it: http://www.overclockersclub.com/news/26348/ Oh boy what I'd do to get a few of those modules.... I wonder if they'd work in standard motherboards, the reason being they say 'supports up to 16GB of RAM' - so if you put a 32GB module, would it or wouldn't it work? (These are Registered modules (they haven't specified if they have ECC yet, so they should work right?))

bilcliff Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 i really would be interested to know if they'd work on a standard mobo. not that i'd ever need or be able to afford that much ram . imagine a few of these on a EVGA Classified SR-2 motherboard
Guest_Jim_* Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 (edited) imagine a few of these on a EVGA Classified SR-2 motherboard I'd go Intel for that. One in each slot and we're talk 382GB! I could store my whole computer in that! Too bad it only supports 48GB. (Maybe the Classified SR-3 will fix this obvious bug ) Edited March 29, 2010 by Guest_Jim_*
sdy284 Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 well considering that 1x8gb stick of ECC ram is ~$500 i can't wait to see the 4 digit price of a 32gb stick

MrAlex Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 A 16GB Module of DDR3 RAM costs between $1200-1500. So I'd expect a 32GB to be around, say $3000-5000? Exciting stuff ^_^
