nice_shoes Posted March 24, 2010 Posted March 24, 2010 I may have to purchase a new notebook computer to run some software that "talks to" industrial computers in a manufacturing plant. I've been looking at some notebooks on Newegg and there seem to be 2 makers of wireless connections: Intel and Realtek Because of the industrial software, I will be forced to use WindowsXP SP2 and I want to get the fastest most reliable wireless connection that I can get when I'm inside the plant (lot's of pipes, metal, EMI, etc.) Is there a general opinion about which is best - - - Intel or Realtek?? Or are they all about the same?
d3bruts1d Posted March 24, 2010 Posted March 24, 2010 My experience has been it's pretty much the same. IIRC the Intel may be a little less power hungry, but don't hold me to that.
