getting a new notebook computer onto wireless

I may have to purchase a new notebook computer to run some software that "talks to" industrial computers in a manufacturing plant.

I've been looking at some notebooks on Newegg and there seem to be 2 makers of wireless connections: Intel and Realtek

Because of the industrial software, I will be forced to use WindowsXP SP2 and I want to get the fastest most reliable wireless connection that I can get when I'm inside the plant (lot's of pipes, metal, EMI, etc.)

Is there a general opinion about which is best - - - Intel or Realtek?? Or are they all about the same?
