Mist Posted January 15, 2004 Posted January 15, 2004 Others have done it but I'll go ahead and spare Bigred of telling you that the cores are slightly different. For example the xt version is made out of different materials to produce less heat. the difference in ram doesn't seem to matter as the 256 pro uses ddr2 and the xt uses dd1. Overclocker16 Posted January 15, 2004 Posted January 15, 2004 I wouldn't do it. Cores are different. Not made out of different material, just made to withstand the heat.
Nuclear Posted January 15, 2004 Posted January 15, 2004 It will work without any problems, but I promise it won't provide the results you're looking for. You're better off just OC'ing the card.
Lyrical Exercise Posted January 15, 2004 Posted January 15, 2004 it wont work becuase of the DDR 2 and DDR 1 i was trying to do the samething with my card and it wont work and you will end up frying your card i would do the same thing by just overclocking it and fergetting about that XT

You gain nothing by it though, I had better results just OC'ing the card.
