bhvm Posted February 17, 2010 Posted February 17, 2010 Hello there, Here is my primary desktop- AMD manchester X2 Dual core 3800+ 2GB ( DDR 400 Mhz Dual channel MSI K8nGM2 Mobo- GF6150 Northbridge Nforce 430 Southbridge Wireless Keyboard and Mouse Onboard 8 cahannel sound and SATA Raid. 550W PSU VIP Zotac Nvidia 9800GT 512Mb It has been running rock stable these 2~3 years. Lately, The Smart fan is not working properly. Any changes to BIOS/Speedfan has no effect. The fans (All fans connected to Mobo) now spin at full 3000 RPM.......Thats really noisy for me. I remember, The fans used to be 1500~1700 Rpm on Idle, and would rise only when PC heated up. But now, they are all blazing along 3000 RPM. Notes- 1>That happens even when NO OS Loaded (Eg. On Bios). So driver issue out. 2> System is as clean as a whistle. 3> Nothing is overclocked. 4> SpeedFan Used to work properly before on the same settings. nns Posted February 20, 2010 Posted February 20, 2010 I was gonna suggest blowing the system, since you have done that try flashing the latest BIOS and redoing the HSF.. What mobo and CPU temps are you getting now?
bhvm Posted February 20, 2010 Posted February 20, 2010 I was gonna suggest blowing the system, since you have done that try flashing the latest BIOS and redoing the HSF.. What mobo and CPU temps are you getting now? My System is very clean... like new. Mobo temp is 47.C CPU temp is 42.C .....Core1 47.C........... Core2.......49.C........ GFX card (9800GT).......61.C HDD.....32.C (seagate 7200 RPM) These are the every same temps I used to get with a new machine. Also, the other fans (GFX, Cabinet... ) are working properly. I'm reluctant to Flash the BIOS, as the latest version has OC support removed.
