Painting the Reference Cooler on a 5850

Recommended Posts

I am looking to do a little customization. I love my 5850, but the red plastic on the reference cooler goes against everything else in my case being blue... I was curious as to if anyone had attempted this and had any suggestions? I was going to just dismount the cooler, do a nice proper taping and just give a spray with rattle-can for plastic (krylon: fusion most likely.) Anyone have any suggestions/tips or maybe know someone who has done this before?

Not really any tips, just pull the plastic shroud off and paint it.

Although if your going to paint the fan, you have to do it when its spinning to evenly distribute the paint.

My case is now a Lian-Li Lancool K62, I just upgraded from a 300, just haven't gotten around to updating my profile picture yet.

The PCI locking mechanism was a dead give-away.

Unless you want to void the warranty on that nice HD5850, I would paint it.
