Psywar Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 Nice Review! I like that power supply, well the idea of it anyways, I like the idea of having a PSU that allows you to pick and chose your Cables coming off of it. Less Cable Clutter FTW! Crazy_Nate Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 Nice Review! I like that power supply, well the idea of it anyways, I like the idea of having a PSU that allows you to pick and chose your Cables coming off of it. Less Cable Clutter FTW! While Ultra may have started the whole "modular" power supply trend, there are plenty of tried and true power supplies from more rigorous manufacturers. Granted, it may work fine. I'd just be curious to see what that ripple does to the delicate (and expensive) hardware in our performance oriented computers. The price is also a bit high for what it offers... <_<
road-runner Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 (edited) I see Ultra is keeping there reputation up, wouldnt use one of these to charge a battery with in an emergency.... Edited January 29, 2010 by road-runner
paulktreg Posted January 31, 2010 Posted January 31, 2010 I still don't understand the need for a fully modular power supply? Why make the 20/24 pin and the ATX12V/EPS12V connectors modular, we all need them, don't we? It just increases production costs and I see no valid reason for it.
