nugga Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 Hello i'm the happy owner of a XFX Radeon 4890 graphics card, which is doing a great job. But it's so damn loud that i can hardly hear what i'm thinking. It's damn anoying becuase i have a Noctua NH-U12P CPU cooler, and i had to turn off the graphics card to discover how silenct my new CPU cooler is. I wanna buy some new cooling gear for my graphics card if possible. I'm not interrested in Overclocking my card i just wanna make it more silent. My budget is about 80 USD. But just tell what ever you have: NOTE: i dont have 700 USD for a water cooling set.
PingoPongo Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 Have you tried controlling the fan manually with something like MSI Afterburner?
Union Of V Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 ^^^ What he said, also there are a couple of aftermarket coolers for the 4890 that are quieter than the stock coolers (as well as cooling better).

Union Of V Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 Just look on any site selling pc components, they're usually under GPU Coolers. Most should work with the 4890 but check on the manufacturer's site just in case.

nugga Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 (edited) Well they all looks pretty cool, but are they really so silent? I want my GPU to make about 20-25 DB, is this possible? and to you IVIYTHOS. The GPU is about 70 degrees celcius running 100% with auto controlled fan speed. Union Of V Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16835118037 - 20-30db http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16835185081 - 15-30db http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16835186016 - silent http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16835887021 - silent In comparison the 4890 is around 45db, which I think is 4 times as loud as anything here...
