Well since i got a i7 920 for x-mas i might as well make a build for it. its going to be a slow build since i am still working on my amd 1.

Case : HAF 932

PSU: Corsair 1000hx

Cpu: i7 920

mobo: ?????

HSF: Cooler master v8 after water cooling

Ram: ??? depending on board.

Video card: ???? hopefully GTX 360 or 5970

optical: any dvd-burner

Hdd: any hdd.

So i need helping picking out a good mobo for around $300 cdn. from either www4.canadacomputers.com, newegg.ca or tigerdirect.ca

usually people recommend ASUS P6T, i don't know why, maybe any one has a reason?

Myself i'm having a Gigabyte UD4P, which is working very nice, and works very nice for overclocking.

So choose your self or wait for any one else to reply.

I use the Asus Rampage II GENE and while it's a micro-atx motherboard it's a high quality product. It gives you the full functionality of a full ATX board. You can use 12GB of RAM, 2 video cards, and overclocking not normally found in micro-atx boards. 4Ghz was very easy to reach for me. http://www4.canadacomputers.com/index.php?...amp;cid=MBD.303 $229.99. Comes in under your budget but gives up none of the features.

Here's the OCC review http://www.overclockersclub.com/reviews/as...ampage_ii_gene/

I'm not trying to sell you the board but look here http://forums.overclockersclub.com/index.p...howtopic=161432 My system tends to overclock rather well on air. Only really beaten by phase cooling. It's a strong board, I run an i7 920 at 4Ghz 24/7 with 12GB of RAM and 2 5870s.

Ultimately you have to get what you want and makes you happy. Only making a suggestion that I have experience with and have been very happy with.
