Recommended Posts

It works for me. I was doing so updating on the FTP server, so it could have affected my downloads. It works fine now and I'm done updating. Sorry for the inconvience.

No prob. I'm sorry about the trouble d/l'ing. I've 4 drives between my servers go out in the last 2 days. I lost all my data on one of them, so I'm trying to get everything straightened out.

Thanks for being patient.

No problem man...Glad I could help. How the overall feel of the "new" card? I really think mine runs smoother than when it was a 5900.

I can see the worthwile risk.. if you have the money to replace the card.. "if you screw it up" but if you dont have the money.. then i see no point.. because then if you dont have a backup.. your screwed!

As long as you back up your original bios prior to flashing the new one, you can always reverse the process and flash the original back onto the card. Bam! Good as new.

Actually, it's pretty hard to screw the card up just by flashing it. If you are smart, and don't try to flash a 5600 or 5700 to a 5950U, you'll have no problems. I had one card that didn't take the flash well, no big deal though. I put in a PCI video card, and re-flashed it. It worked the second time and has been fine since.
