Fogel Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 A lot of PC gamers were disappointed by the lack of dedicated servers in Modern Warfare 2, and are looking forward to Bad Company 2 because of DICE's positive statements about the PC version of the game. I just can't wait for this game because I absolutely loved BF: 1942 and BF2. Also, the gameplay between CoD and BF is very different when thinking of them as two games from the same genre. Ya but Krazy was one of the few people on here NOT complaining about the lack of dedicated servers so it made me curious if he was referring to that or gameplay aspects. This is my first CoD game, but I'd have to say I like MW2 gameplay more than BF2 ...and I was pretty good at BF2, well except with the helicopters - I couldn't fly those things to save my life. Was a damn good gunner, so I hated that bug that would make you the pilot when someone else already hopped in before you. But yeah both games are a completely different playstyle ...and its not just because of the vehicles. Does BC2 have a kill cam so you can see who tagged you? I am Battlefield deprived , I've been itching to reinstall BF2 since I heard they patched it recently and gave out all the DLC for free Really? Hell Yeah that is cool! :thumbs-up: Course its an old game now but that is still cool they are doing that. I do know someone still playing BF2 so I may have to ping sometime and get online again. WhenKittensATK Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 BC2 has a kill cam. Although it's not a first person view of them killing you like in CoD. It's a 3rd person view but with the cam facing them. It tries to not give away the killer's position but let's the later know how he died. Although if you really know the map then you can usually tell where they are.

WhenKittensATK Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 (edited) A new 4 vs 4 vs 4 vs 4 Squad Deathmatch Gamemode. I been winning a bunch of squad deathmatch pins in the Beta lol. Must be a bug. That now make 3 of the 4 new game modes for BC2. Rush, Conquest, Squad Deathmatch and ??? ScapeGoat Posted December 20, 2009 Posted December 20, 2009 Can I expect a mil slim or just a FPS with guns like CoD?
tkrow21 Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 Can I expect a mil slim or just a FPS with guns like CoD? I'd wait for Krazy to elaborate on this, but from what I've seen it's more realistic than CoD but nowhere near military sim status (nor is it trying to be). WhenKittensATK Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 (edited) If you ever played a Battlefield game before, it's basically the same with a new environment (destructibility). EA DICE doesn't change too much of how the game is played, that won't stop me from buying every BF title that comes out and playing it to death. Conclusion FPS with guns and vehicles. Although it requires some sort of teamwork. It's not meant to be a realistic military sim, like Arma or Operation Flashpoint. Bad Company is originally a console title, so for PC Battlefield players it's a tad bit different. But it still falls back on the basic elements of gameplay found in all Battlefield games. WhenKittensATK Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 (edited) A nice fan made video: Some silly stuff. I love the tracer dart shots on infantry. Makes for some nice RPG sniping. Can I expect a mil slim or just a FPS with guns like CoD? To add alittle more to this. It really nothing like CoD. You can clearly see that from all the gameplay videos of Bad Company 2 and any other BF series. Two completely different styled games. Now I just have to wait for the PC Beta to start next year. ScapeGoat Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 Thanks a lot for you answer. I'll probably give it a try since at least it looks more tactical and less paced than most FPS. I really don't like "jumping, jumping, jumping, shooting, headshot, frag to the door on the right, sprint, stab dude that appear in front of you, kill 2 dudes immediately after stabing the other one, another frag over that wall..." type of game. All Battlefield games are on a much larger scale (vehicles, larger maps, slower paced than Call of Duty).

If your really into those military sims that are slower paced. Check out these WWII games: Red Orchestra and it's mods (my favorite; get to play with American weaponry) and . The game is built off of an older Unreal Engine. The controls sometimes are a little difficult, but enjoy. It's a slow paced game. Realistic in almost every way possible. You get shot in the hand, you drop your gun. You get shot in the leg, you walk slow. You shoot a tank your round drops considerability. All tanks are crew operated. You won't see the way tanks work in this game as they do in other games. Other games dumb it down and there are only two seats driver/turret gunner and the above turret mg gunner. So every crew member that was in a WW2 tank is in this tank. It's not a two man operation. You shoot any weapon and there will be realistic recoil to pop your gun. Not talking about CoD 4 recoil, which is no recoil lol. You shoot a gun in this game and depending what gun your muzzle will fly up 1-5 inches. If your playing as a rifleman you will literally be forced to bayonet charge in close quarters if you already shot and need to reload. That's why I like Darkest Hour, if I was playing on the American side, I got the trusty semi-auto M1 Grand or M1 Carbine.
