SteelTech Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 (edited) Hey guys. My PSU sounds like it was failing. The sound that comes from it... is totally annyoing. I thought that was the ASUS Q-Shield because, since it have a fan to the side, the vibration was making that sound. Now, I moved my PC to a higher place and since I have the Case next to me, I finally got where this annyoing sound comes from. When I boot up my system, it doesn't sound. It the most silent PC you can find (lol), but after the system is booted up, it starts to roam. It starts to sound very low but then it starts to sound hard. How can I do to remove this sound? My specs: - PSU: Coolmax Green Power CUG Series 950 Watts - Motherboard: ASUS M4A79 Deluxe - GPU: XFX GeForce 9800 GT - XXX Edition - CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 940 Black Edition @ 3.0GHz - RAM: G.Skill 2x1GB DDR2 @ 400MHz (Dual-Channel) - Case: NZXT Guardian 921 Here you go a Picture of the PSU: http://tinyurl.com/ydn9hcy Hope you can help me! Thanks in advance! Edited November 18, 2009 by SteelTech
MasterRex862 Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 If you've isolated the sound and have found that it is indeed the PSU creating the sound, you're pretty much out of luck. Replacing the power supply is your best (and possibly only) option.
