CowKing Posted November 16, 2009 Posted November 16, 2009 i think optical drives and HDD use the 5v rail not the 12v rail and yes that looks like a a good setup for what you have

punkishbloke Posted November 16, 2009 Posted November 16, 2009 yeah ive been told that but for a 100 quid i cant realy moan seen as a pair of gtx260 would cost me
Zertz Posted November 16, 2009 Posted November 16, 2009 I'd keep saving if I were you. The cards are relatively old, don't scale well and are vastly inferior on many aspects compared to current generation cards.
00stevo Posted November 16, 2009 Posted November 16, 2009 Quad SLI and Quad Crossfire are a waste.Dual cards can offer big increases but each card you add after that sees minimal increases.Id buy them anyway and sell them for a profit. ScapeGoat Posted November 16, 2009 Posted November 16, 2009 (edited) I have a question regarding the 9800GX2. With the drivers coming from a long way since it's release, does the GX2 still has some issues? ScapeGoat Posted November 16, 2009 Posted November 16, 2009 (edited) I have had one for about 6 months now and have yet to have any problems other than heat. Because being a dual gpu card, at first it had some compatibility issues, bugs and micro stuttering. If those problems are gone I think that for the price putting both in quad sli 9800GX2 would be a good choice. Im sure scaling to the 3rd and 4th gpu would be horrible. I would just pick them both up and turn around and sell one. Bet you could make most of your money back with a deal like that. I would definitely post some benches with them in quad sli just to see how well they scale now compared to about a year ago before you sold the second one
