Systemlord Posted November 16, 2009 Posted November 16, 2009 (edited) I have been out of touch with graphics cards and LCD gaming monitors for two years, is 120Hz the next biggest thing in LCDs? Can one buy a good 24" gaming LCD for $400 - $500 or is the speed and quality in 20"-22" LCD monitors? I'm looking for my first widescreen LCD with a shiny screen (OptiClear) and either want a high quality LCD or nothing at all! I have had my NEC 19" LCD MultiSync LCD1970GX for 4-5 years and can't go back to matt screens, any recommendations? Thanks Systemlord. tkrow21 Posted November 16, 2009 Posted November 16, 2009 I don't know why anyone would want 75HZ, quite a strange number. Either way, there are plenty of quality 24" LCD's for $400 - $500; even less. Here's my pick, lots of connectivity, nice looks, 1920x1200 and not 1080p, and it's Samsung. While my 19 incher can do 60Hz, it also has a 75Hz setting which I do see a noticeable difference. I've seen 85Hz 24" LCDs before, your link to the Samsung LCD has a 56-75Hz refresh rate. Does it have a glossy screen?

Kash Posted November 16, 2009 Posted November 16, 2009 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16824236052 I just got this monitor and it's absolutely amazing. I played Modern Warfare 2 on it and the game just looked gorgeous.

xchrissypoox Posted November 16, 2009 Posted November 16, 2009 None recommended have a glossy screen, must have a glossy screen. I disagree, unless you like working in the dark, glossy screens suck.
Systemlord Posted November 16, 2009 Posted November 16, 2009 I disagree, unless you like working in the dark, glossy screens suck. I love the working in the dark, I've never had any issues with my NEC's OptiClear screen. Some of the best displays (Panasonic TC-P65V10) are somewhat glossy, if you have control over the light it's no problem.
