Just installed Ubuntu 9.10, first time using it and I have a few questions. I downloaded my graphics drivers but when I click run in terminal, it says I need to be super-user. How do I fix this? Do I have to log-in to my admin account, download the drivers again, install it on that account then switch back? I tried going to terminal and putting sudo -i then put in the admin pass but still didn't work? Also my sound drivers for creative sound blaster extreme gamer? No idea how to install them ? I have a folder full of files and don't know what do to. What do I have to do in the terminal The folder name is XFiDrv_Linux_Public_US_1.00.tar.gz? Please HELP

What brand of video card do you have?

As far as the sound card, tar.gz is similar to a zip file. At the terminal, go into the directory where that is located and type tar -xvf XFiDrv_Linux_Public_US_1.00.tar.gz

After that I'm not sure as I've never installed sound drivers.
