wildman2 Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 (edited) Wife got tired of me wondering if i should get 1 lg monitor or 3 smaller monitors .so she got me this one a 42 in insignia 1080p tv.must say it does look nice text is readable even without my glasses(bi-focals)Jacked up the aa,aaa etc and quality settings on everything the ATI Catalyst could crank.hmmm wonder if i can convince her to get me 2 more and a new video card or 2 from ATI/AMD to run Eyefinity.hehehe.Not too shabby for $498.00 Color seems to be quite accurate.I would like to try to calibrate it for accuracy though, anyone know of a free program to do it? Thats a Antec 900 on the right by the way. Edited November 11, 2009 by wildman2
suchuwato Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 You'll need an actual device to calibrate it unless you're doing it by eye... and as you've got glasses it might go wrong (my glasses, which i've only worn twice in anger, mess up blue colours on displays)
wildman2 Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 Bummer.I'll just do it by eye then.Thanx for the info.
bp9801 Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 That is pretty nice. You can adjust the colors to your liking, though if you adjust the color profiles you'd probably have a bit of an easier go. There are a ton of color profiles to choose from, I prefer sRGB though just because its more of a standard than anything else. Unless you use a Mac, then they have their own Apple RGB which is ever so slightly warmer than sRGB.. but sRGB is the best way to go imo. Â I'd sit a little farther back from that TV though, 42" is huge to be sitting so close to. You may need thicker glasses after a while. Still though, that is damn nice and I would love to have one like it. Where did she get it at?
tkrow21 Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 The sun's more dangerous to the eye than an LCD monitor
