Would this be dumb?

Recommended Posts

I was looking at some prices, and I saw the Phenom II x2 3.0 ghz was 89 bucks, thats a really good deal.

but is it stupid to still get dual core? or are they phasing them out.

Because I honestly dont need a quad core....and this would work well.

Are you looking to build a 2nd system for something? The one in your sig is better.

We don't know if it going to be a replacement for his 720. If you don't need a quad there is no reason to get a quad. I am going to get a AMD 240 for my back-up rig as it is mainly used for surfing the net and some photo editing.

CRAP. i need to update my sig cause I ordered that phenom X3 II but the mobo was dead so I had to send it all back.

stuff happened and I didnt reorder.

SOO technically the processor I have is an E6300 Core 2 Duo.

and some intel mobo and stuff

I mean I dont want to get a dual core if they are gonna stop making them and stuff

From one Link fan to another,

Id go for a X3 if you have money and your just being stingy.

If you are on a tight budget dual core is fine.

The processor speed difference between them is negligible.

anything you buy today is gonna be outdated and bad.

if the dual core is fast enough for what you need today and if its a good price then get it..

I dont like to plan too far ahead when it comes to computers because you pay sooo much money for something that will be crap when the time comes that you are trying to plan ahead for. (if that makes sence)
