I have the same kit with my LGA 1156 platform,and it kicks butt !!

i7 860@4002 mhz @ 1.28volts (19 x 210.7)

asus p7p55d evo

2:10,9-9-9-24-116-1t @ 1.685volts

Isn't that voltage on the ram a bit high for an i7?

Hmm, it does seem a little high for an i5/i7. Are there still problems with running high memory voltages on these processors (from the integrated memory controller on chip)?

 

The range on these modules is 1.7V - 1.9V, which seems pretty high for DDR3.

I was wondering if there is still that voltage limit as well, I think there is.

These modules do not seem to be intended for i5/i7s, Core2's and am3 only would be my guess. If I was planning to run an am3 and ddr3 I would definitely choose the newer lower voltage memory kits.

Another review to reinforce my "RAM doesn't matter" standpoint. :P

 

Nice looking memory though. :)

though some memory heatsinks may disrupt high end coolers :P but yeah, speed wise it's not that important.

You can get around it by making sure that your QPI voltage is within .5 volt of the memory voltage so they say(Not Intel). DDR3 performance modules used before the i7 were using up to 2.1v for insane speeds and timings. I reviewed a set of OCZ that required 1.9 to run 6-5-5 at 1333Mhz.

DDR3 1333 is rated to do 6-6-6-18 at 1.6 but things have advanced a bit.

the good news is that I've been running them for 2 weeks at 1.63v on a 201 mhz bus (work at 1.6v as well)

somehow anything past 4039 mhz with my cpu makes the IMC voltage shoot way high (currently 1.37v,left at auto in bios)
