mazakman Posted November 2, 2009 Posted November 2, 2009 I've had this monitor for a week now and it flickers and has vertical stripes is about the best way I can explain it (kind of scary when it happens)... I never had this problem with a 19 inch Acer I was using before or any lcd monitors that my wife or sons are/were using. The problem is when I power it up... it goes nuts every once in a while for about an hour or so then seems to stabilize and stay calm after that. Should I contact the vendor to see how they can help me or should I get in touch directly with Asus to work things out? Thanks. If you have a digital camera, snap some shots of it in action.
mazakman Posted November 2, 2009 Posted November 2, 2009 I'll try but it's unpredictable at best... it's been stable for the last hour or so... Fecal Matter!
bp9801 Posted November 2, 2009 Posted November 2, 2009 It almost sounds like an overheating or CFL issue with it. Definitely contact ASUS and let them know about it, you should be covered under warranty for that. It may be a simple fix you can do yourself, but without fully knowing what is causing it, its just easier to contact them and see what they say. mazakman Posted November 2, 2009 Posted November 2, 2009 I know way more about cooling than these damned monitors. I'll get in touch with Asus tomorrow. Thanks.

I remember my friends Acer was overheating and it would have these issues. Then after awhile it died entirely.
