We really need to know what graphics card you are going to get before things like a PSU can be recommended so I'd stick that into the mix.

Are you a gamer and what resolution is your monitor?

You have picked an SLI mobo but are you ever going to need it?

Cheers

what site do you plan to buy from? I think the antecc 1200 is a waste, I like the 300 because it is so similar to the 900 yet cheap as crap. but if you want a window the 900 is nice and plenty big.

i'd go the 902 not the 900.

do you plan to overclock? also do you plan to use the stock intel heatsink?

you may want a aftermarket heatsink.

also im not entirely sure but some of the longer gfx cards may struggle to fit in smaller cases.

Don't go for the really low latency RAM as it is costly and doesn't increase the performance to a noticeable extent!

I don't think you will need more than 500W for a video editing build as you probably are going to need a very basic video card like 4670!

Im not going to be doing any gaming on it right now but in the future I may do which is why i chose a board that will support SLI and an enormous case :)

I think ill probably go for a 4670 for now as it seems i wont need anything bigger :P This is the revised build so far:

MOBO - eVGA X58 SLI LE

CPU - i7 920 "D0" Stepping

RAM - Kingston hyperx 1600

PSU - OCZ stealthXstream 700W

Case - Antec 1200

GPU - ATI 4670

I think you could probably pop in a 9600GSO for a little cheaper, no use spending money on video card that won't need to render games. (even a 4350, 4550,9500GT etc.)

Get a cheapo card on ebay.

If you dont want to overclock you could cut back on the motherboard (as SLI/CF is generally pointless except for high-end use) and just spend the rest on a better screen, a 22" or 24" (or 2x 22")

+1 for a non-gamer (who would maybe game later) it is pointless to have a board so expensive.. By all means a single GPU (GTX295 or 5870) suffices even some of the hardcore gamers today!

It sounds like a nice thing to have an SLI but I don't think it serves any purpose... Save the money buy a cheaper mobo and low-end gfx and get a good monitor or CPU cooler.. I think you can save on the case too, I don't think Antec 900 will have any issue with long gfx...

Ive read a few reviews on that motherboard and it seems like a decent board for overclocking (which i would like to have a bit of a play around with) plus i think it looks pretty cool too :) anyone have any suggestions on cooling? I have been looking at the Coolermaster V8, ive read one or two reviews and it has come out top and it looks pretty sexy :P As you can tell, i want to be able to show off my comp a bit too!

I do want to do a bit of overclocking and its apparently a good setup for getting 4GHz +.....with sufficient cooling of course :P And as for the monitors, I have a 30" apple monitor which my uncle no longer uses. If i got a second one would i need a gfx card better than a 4670??

Also, some of the video editing i am doing has special effects and added glow etc... does that require lots of rendering? The software that i use for effects is this , i use riot gear, twitch and Action Essentials 2K.

EDIT: As for the case, is the 902 better than the 900?? Its only a couple of quid difference, is it worth it? This build keeps getting cheaper and cheaper :D

I think the 4670 will do just fine unless you intend to game!

V8 looks nice but it's not the best cooler..

Have a look at Prolimatech Megahalems and Mega Shadow.. TRUE and (for cost effective cooling) Sunbeam CCF 120

902/900 it's up to you if you want the extra features go for it!

Are you sure the EVGA is a good OCer? (I have heard some stuff about the Classified series not sure about the LE) Did you have a look at the ASUS boards? (Rampage II Gene, P6T).

EDIT: 1 review, the only one I could find, shows that EVGA SLI LE OCs very well!!
