The Yankees just moved onto the World Series to face the Phillies. The poll is fairly straightforward...in the first one, it's who you want to win; in the second, it's who you think will win. Obviously your answer can be the same in both.

Just some quick stats that may aid you in your decision:

New York Yankees: 103-59 (Best Record in baseball). 10-8 in Interleague play. 26 World Series Championships, all-time.

Philadelphia Phillies: 93-69. 6-12 in Interleague play. Defending World Series Champions.

Yankees don't need another championship win. They already spend to much damn money on players, making for little to no competition in the MLB...

Every player wan'ts to play for the yankees as they payout the most. Look at Sabathia, he had a good thing going with the Brewers, they got to the playoffs with him and he ditched for the money...

Screw the Yankees and their overpaid players.

:withstupid: im far from a Phillies fan. but i hate them Yanks

Why do you hate the Yanks? Because they spend the most money trying to field the best team to win? I still don't understand why people hate the Yankees. Maybe the haters teams should spend some money.

Oh and if anyone else has noticed the most money spent doesn't guarantee anything. No championships since 2000. They spent money poorly in years past but this time they got it right.

Thats why people hate the Yankees, at least thats why I do... Other teams don't have the salary budgets to pay players as much as the Yankees do. This is why there needs to be Salary Caps in MLB.

look at Sabathia, $161 million contract the largest in the MLB for a pitcher... I mean seriously? How are teams like the Brewers or others supposed to compete with that? They spend $161 million on their entire team!

Last year the Brewers were 8th in the league for total attendance, you want to know why? Because they don't charge $100+ per ticket which allows people whom are true fans to attend the games. I can goto a Brewers game for as little as $1 that's right ONE DOLLAR.

Lets have a ball club that isn't super rich and supported by the super rich goto the world series.

I went to Yankees (regular season) games for a mere $25. You can get seats for as little as $10 (in the regular season). I consider that to be extremely reasonable, especially considering it's the Yankees and in NEW YORK where everything is typically more expensive.

As for them spending money, it's the old adage...you have to spend money to make money. The club was willing to spend the money to field great teams and that drew in fans. Like it or not, the Yankees were/are great for baseball. You want to know the only time the Brewers are going to sell out? When the Yanks are in town. So not only do the Yanks contribute to other teams via revenue sharing, but they also indirectly boost the teams they travel too. I guarantee, when the schedules are released each year, every owner wants to see a home series against the Yankees.

Also, I always found it humorous when people say they've "bought championships" during the mid-90's. I understand how non-Yankee fans wouldn't know how the team was formed, but if you're going to bash a team, you should at least do some research. The 1996 team consisted of the following HOME-GROWN players that were key to the team's success:

Derek Jeter, Bernie Williams, Jorge Posada, Jim Leyritz

Andy Pettitte, Ramiro Mendoza, Mariano Rivera

All of them were there for all four rings, except for Leyritz.

The Yankees had success because their scouting team was arguably the best in the league.
