Renigade Posted October 25, 2009 Posted October 25, 2009 Its time to start planing my Christmas build for my self I am looking to get a Full Tower case. At some point I will go Liquid cool about April/may 2010 Color does not matter I will be running: 2 GPUs Raid Card soundcard 4 Hard drives 2 optical drives 2bay 5.25 Multi function control panel Sound card 5.25 1 bay control panel Cases I'm looking at: Coolermaster CX 1000 / Stacker 830 to busy and poor cable mgmt Lian Li A20B Still a toss up but leaning twords the Corsair Silverstone TJ09 side vents will interfere with planned mods poor cable Mgmt Corsair Obsidian Series 800D <---Looking really sweet the more I look! Thermaltake ArmorPlus to busy bad cable Mgmt Just wondering what experience you guys have had with these, Quality, Interior space, cable management, airflow, and then at some point when I go to Liquid will there be space? Any suggestions would be awesome. This will be my first Intel box I have always had AMD and I want to give this build much more careful consideration then my last. Crazy_Nate Posted October 25, 2009 Posted October 25, 2009 If I was still considering upgrading to another full tower, the A20B would be very high on my list. I love LL cases, they're simple, sleek, and well built. The A71F also looks quite good. If you're up for something different, then you might consider a H2Go. j2t Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 I don't have any experience with any of those cases you listed, but I am a fan of both Lian Li and Cooler Master cases. Just looking at it from a water cooling standpoint I would think the A71F that Crazy_Nate listed would be easier for watercooling than the A20B. Have you looked at the Cooler Master ATCS 840? Looks like a pretty sweet case as well IMO, just to muddy the water a little lol

Renigade Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 Thanks for the input guys yeah that Corsair 800D looks better every time I look at it, but I'm still eyeballin that Lian Li A20B I really like having the front door, and I would be fine with drilling a few cable Mgmt holes if needed. After owning an Antec 900 I think I prefer the clean look of a door rather then the glowing fans/grill look. I looked at some of the other cases in the $300-500 and I was not to impressed. The Silverstone TJ10's didnt seem to have good cable management and the side vents would not work with the mods have planned. Abs Canyon was a nice looking case with a huge amount of room but it would not work because I need 4 5.25 bays.. I don't mind modding my case but if 1/2 the work is done already then hellz yeah I really like all those grommeted holes. though I did enjoy modding and painting my Antec 900. Still not finished because a friend fried the new PSU I got for it, a modular OCZ fatal1ty 550 (Red LED fan). Would have RMA'd it but I had already voided the warranty by removing the sleeving., he was trying to figure out what happened to his Mobo that was fried and killed my brand new PSU.. All I had left was to buy red Led fans and get a true 120 with red fans, install my UV CCT's and white wire sleeving would have looked sweet. Kinda killed my desire to finish it. So yeah lesson learned on that one do not use a brand new PSU to test a presumed dead MoBo LOL..$150 mistake.... If the corsair is my final decision what do you guys think my chances are on calling the company and buying an unpainted one? Save me some sanding.. LOL im a lazzy bastage...
