paulktreg Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 (edited) A 550W will be fine for a single 4890 but if there's a chance you may crossfire or upgrade in the future then go for a 750W unit if funds permit. The higher power Coolermaster power supplies aren't bad but go for something from Corsair, OCZ, PC Power & Cooling , etc. if you can. Have a look at the recommended power supply list here on OCC for guidance and ask if you aren't sure. Rockrtx Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 (edited) Recommend corsair 620w ,made by seasonic, modular ,low ripple, quiet and 80 plus certified. 600w is good for any single card pc build with power to spare. If you don't want modular or cheaper psu, go with any other corsair...you can't go wrong with this brand. tx 650 tx 750 Edited October 23, 2009 by Rockrtx

paulktreg Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 (edited) Tell me the specific model/part numbers of the power supplies you are looking at and I'll see what I can find out. Coolmaster power supplies aren't bad as such but there are better. The higher power Coolermaster units are the better ones, have a look at the recommended power supply list. paulktreg Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 (edited) i am looking followin 2 PSUs Coolermaster eXtreme Power Plus 600W (RS-600-PCAR-E3) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- SilverStone SST-ST65ZF 650W I find it hard to recommend either of these power supplies. Don't get me wrong they are probably quite capable of powering your system but I cannot find any reviews of any real value on the internet. This tells me they are low to mid-range unit. I would prefare you used an higher end unit like Corsair, OCZ, Thermaltake, etc., of 500~600W rating if possible. Having said that I found a little information on the Silverstone that tells me its "OK" and of the two, with it's higher rating, that's the one I would reluctantly recommend.
