N.E.A Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 (edited) do not get 775 cpus , q9650 is overpriced i say i5 750 + p55-ud4p/ud3r or msi p55-gd65 + 4 gigs ddr3 1600 amd is very good but if you can buy 1156 it would be better and you can look at cases like nzxt m59 or lexa s or cooler master storm sniper and they are cheaper , (for cable management .. ) but cases are personal choice . psu get 650w but black color ..ocz / HEC / THERMAL TAKE /..etc WELCOME TO OCC........................... N.E.A Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 (edited) thanks for that, what is the difference bw DDR3 and DDR2 and here is my amd build if it is any good AMD Phenom II X4 945 3.0GHZ Gigabyte GA-MA790XT-UD4P MB, AM3,790X+SB750,5.2GT/s, DDR3 same everything else you are welcome ddr3 vs ddr2 : ddr3 future proof but pricey .. ddr2 is very good performer beats ddr3 some times and match it others , well priced but now they are getting expensive if you are getting ddr2 then 800 mhz or 1066 will do the difference will be 100-350 in benchmark scores , ddr3 get 1600 or higher , do not get 1333 unless you plan on overclocking it to 1600 (higher speed ) right now i say ddr3 is best ( future proof and the price gap is closing ) as for amd it is very very very very .. good , but if you can get x4 955 it will be better for overclocking , if you do not want to overclock like crazy then 945 but 955 will overclock more easily ..since it features an unlocked multiplier .. as for the board it is very very awesome board it gets to 790xt-ud5p`s performance level ...good luck as i said if you can get 1156 ( i5 ) it i will be good but if you can not or do not want to spend a lot get amd i5 vs x4 955/965 the difference is not that big and some times there is no noticeable difference but i7 (1156) makes a noticeable difference as for the prices p55-gd65 and gigabyte p55-ud4p are good but sadly 790x costs less 790fx too .. so if you want to the bang for the buck get amd tell us what you think about that .. edit : i forgot to say that the performance difference between ddr3 and ddr2 can be seen in benchmark scores .. Thanks alot

Thanks alot nice rams .. were you asking which board is better ..? (gd65 / ud4p ) those two are exactly the same except for the oc genie button if you are new o overclocking and you want to overclock as easy as pushing a button get the gd65 but note that it gives more voltage than needed ( i think i read that some where ..) any way if the 10 bucks are ok with ya get the gigabyte it is very easy in overclocking too but this you will have to do it your self and personally i do not like the oc button since i can not trust and i have to get my hands in it after all . msi can be overclocked manually too but gigabyte will have the better stability .. and i think i did understand some thing : did you mean which board (gd65/ud4p) will run better with amd ..? i think i misunderstood that , any way just to let you know amd can not run on intel boards , the same thing with intel cpus as for the video card it will run with no problem but try to get ( gigabyte / asus / msi / evga / xfx ) these are far better than zotac even BFG good luck if you have any more questions , feel free to put them in a post .. nns Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 Hey I think your PSU and case are pretty good!! Although there always are options like Corsair you might want to consider. i5 and AMD quads are both pretty good!! There are cheaper GSkills available around $96 for 4gigs!! Not heard much about Zotac gfx.. I'd say ASUS gfx are pretty decent and cheap..
