IVIYTH0S Posted October 20, 2009 Posted October 20, 2009 I made this so i can find out other options from 8800 GT. I guess 9600GT, 8600GTS that's about it, a 512MB 8800GTS would be awesome too but that has a dual slot cooler
The Smith Posted October 20, 2009 Posted October 20, 2009 I guess 9600GT, 8600GTS that's about it, a 512MB 8800GTS would be awesome too but that has a dual slot cooler The 9800GT also has also been made with a single-slot cooler. (I know it's the almost the same card) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16814150323 Â And what about the new GT220? I'm sure it would run great too. Inverted2 Posted October 20, 2009 Posted October 20, 2009 If your going radeon they don't use physx cards only nvidia but how much for the GTX lol

He said he wanted options other than the 8800GT and the 9800GT is the same thing, thus it wasn't mentioned (nor do I ever like talking about it) Â and the gt220 is such crap, it should cost $40 if it intends to sell, the 9600GT would wipe the floor with it and only costs ~$50 Â I wonder how good the G 220's would be a as a physx card? cough cough test performance cough cough not as good as a 9600GT, which can be had for cheaper. Â i found a 8800 gtx, would that be good for physx ? it would be great if you have the space, and if you do I'd recommend the 8800GTS 512mb (which is the same as the 9800GTX, 9800GTX+ and GTS 250, except the GTX+ and GTS 250 are both 55nm but they would all perform the same as physx cards) Â my main card is up in the air right now i am either going with a 4870x2, 5870 or 5850 i am not sure yet. what's your price range (for both cards, or just the main rendering card) Â If your going radeon they don't use physx cards only nvidia but how much for the GTX lol yeah they do (refer to mein sig ) you can use the driver hack to make it work. My setup works great
ccokeman Posted October 20, 2009 Posted October 20, 2009 Doing some additional testing on the GT220 to see what the impact of using it as a Physx card will be when compared to using a GTS250 as a physx card!

insan3 Posted October 20, 2009 Posted October 20, 2009 (edited) Well i was thinking $600 Cdn for both cards. i found a 4870x2 used for 250 cdn. so i am probabily going to get that. i do have the space for the double slot cards.
