Officially the most complex poll ever posted on OCC

There was an option on there twice:

"Yes. I am "upgrading" from the gold/RTM, but did not have 7 preordered."

I am guessing one of those was supposed to be "upgrading from the gold/RTM but did have 7 preordered."

I only see the option once...

I've been running the RC since it came out as well. Does any one know if the upgrade is a limited time offer, or will I be able to buy the upgrade when the RC expires? If so I'll wait until then, no need to buy it now if I don't need to. I have a copy of Vista that I got for free sitting around but I've never bothered to install.

I believe the upgrade option is a standard product, like the Vista upgrade discs. So no limited time.

Wow I have never seen a poll with so many choices. Good thing mine was at the top. Even if it is half as good as people claim it'll still be better than Vista, which I can't complain much about either. Guess I'll have to wait till Thursday when my pre-order becomes available for download in order to find out.

Sticking with XP for now but I suppose it's inevitable that I'll go Windows 7 sometime down the road!

Probably dual boot although I don't really want to because I have some older programs that are XP only. (Old graph drawing program and some Fluke software that talks to my Fluke Scopemeter). There's a version of Windows 7 that's suppose to run these isn't there but can it be trusted to perform?

Cheers

Paul

I'm still waiting for a compelling reason not to use XP.

^^ This.

I voted "XP is fine for me". I don't see enough advantages to Windows 7 over XP to go through the hassle/expense of changing OS's on three systems. Definitely a 'if it's not broke, don't fix it' thing with me.

However, all systems I set up going forward will run Windows 7.

I believe what you are talking about is windows xp mode; its on professinoal and ultimate versions. One of the reasons that made me feel safe about upgrading. Any old games and applications should work. Will be VERY pissed if they don't work.
