GutBust3r Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 (edited) I just installed Windows 7 Ultimate x64 on a single HD. I also have a RAID 0 array on my rig with two HD's that I use for storage. W7 recognizes the individual hard drives, but doesn't recognize the RAID array. I tried uninstalling the hard drives, then re-installing them attempting to update the drives with the nForce 4 RAID drivers supplied by both nVidia and my mobo manufacturer (DFI), but W7 keeps telling me the drivers (which W7 installed upon discovering the drives) are sufficient. I can boot into WinXP or WinVista and they both recognize my RAID array no frills. I'm at a loss of what to do here... searched the boards and the net and only seem to find people who are having issues like this during the W7 install but nothing post install. Hopefully I'm missing something. Below are some screens, hope they help. Some new screens. I get this message as soon as I go into disk Management. XxHellxRaizerxX Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 Aren't you supposed to supply the RAID drivers on install or is that only if you are installing to that RAID array?

Yeah, if I was installing to the RAID then I would of needed the drivers regardless. But like I said, I was toying around during install to see if the drivers would even take and the install rejected them. I ended up just installing on a single SATA HD. XxHellxRaizerxX Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 Ah, well I know that Windows 7 64 didn't give me any problems with my RAID but I'm using the SB750 on my AMD chipset and the 64bit Vista drivers which work for W7 as well. As you are on an Nvidia chipset I can't really make much of a statement. All I can say is make sure you have the most up to date drivers. Also what device were you using to load the drivers from? I used a flash drive.

I used a flash drive. Data CD. It was able to load the drivers for selection and such. The same drivers I used to install Vista x64, which worked flawlessly then. Not too worried about why they wouldn't read during W7 install at this point, since I have W7 on it's own single drive, I'm more worried about gaining access to all my files on my storage RAID array. WhenKittensATK Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 (edited) Have you tried updating to the latest BIOS? If you haven't tried out these Vista 64 drivers yet. http://www.nvidia.com/object/nforce_vista64_15.23.html Edited October 16, 2009 by Krazyxazn
Hemidare Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 Windows 7 cant support raid from the nf4 expert board. And i am not sure if they will be coming out with the drivers or not. Maybe upon release maybe. I tried installing 3 raptors in raid 0 in my sons computer and no go. And i read somewhere that the drivers will not work on windows 7 for some reason. If things have changed then i apologize in advance.

I'm assuming I just need to wait for them to release updated drivers.

Win7 x86 installs fine but the x64 bit edition it has issues with. Sorry for the bad news. It appears that the problem is drivers, so whether you are installing to a raid or just trying to see it after your install such as your backup drives that are raid 0 it cannot see them. I will post back here if i can find a solution for you. Edited October 17, 2009 by Hemidare
