nns Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 You should be able to use your old HDD and other stuff!! And did you consider i5 before selected the components? Lower latency RAM would be better!! 6-6-6-18 or something.. Rest seems pretty good!! Are you looking for options for the monitor / Case? Lastly, Welcome to OCC!! The Smith Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 I would consider a 5850 You could save money on the PSU; a 600W will be plenty.

insan3 Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 for future proofing i would go with DDR3 but DDR2 is cheap

Yeah, when I first started my research I was thinking of the 940 with your mobo and DDR2, but then after reading some more I decided to put in a little extra to go with the next generation in hopes that the rig will last longer. for future proofing i would go with DDR3 but DDR2 is cheap DDR2 is definitely cheap now, but if you think on the long run, I

gundiesalvo Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 Thanks! And I will most definitely be asking more questions once I get my hands on all those parts and manuals, lol. With some help from you guys, and a bit of luck I might manage to boot it on my first attempt!
Krieg1337 Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 Just so you know, the highest temperature I have gotten on Load so far was 45 Celsius. This is with the Xigmatek S1283 Cooler, my idle temperatures are around 33-36. Just a heads up, the temps are awesome
